Hey bestie Reader,
I gotta tell you. I had this entire 600 word email typed out and hit backspace a little early and I lost EVERYTHING, so here I am- trying this again. (Cue the caffeine thanks).
So anyway- now that we're back into the swing of the school year, I figure it's time we get back into the swing of our businesses, right? Most of us are ramping up for the busiest time of year, which mean's that it's even MORE important to have your business in order. So here's 3 actionable tasks to make sure you have ready for fall:
HOMEPAGE
Spend some time on your hero copy on your homepage. Aim for 2,000 words- but don't be scared of this number! Utilize testimonials you have received from previous clients and pepper them throughout your page. Add niche specific keywords and don't forget to clearly write out your business name, what service you offer and where you are located.
Example: Emily Woodruff Photography is a portrait and branding photographer located in Clio, MI.
BLOG
Begin working on your blog right away- start easy by highlighting your latest few sessions or events that you've photographed. Set up a schedule for yourself and make a plan that you can stick to! Once you get into the flow of blogs, start implementing posts that relate to prepping for sessions, what to expect in a session, how to plan your session, what sets you apart as a photographer, where to shop for trendy clothing, etc.
PS- Make sure you share your blogs to your social media and tag your clients- this will give your website more attention and hopefully turn someone new into a client!
GOOGLE
Don't wait to set up your Google for Business account- I'm serious. The sooner you get it up, the sooner it will start integrating with your website and giving you helpful feedback. If you have a physical studio or location that you can list, make sure you follow up and do the Google verification. It can take some time.
BONUS: Google for Business is a great place to collect reviews and add recent photos to your profile.
